52983 Cedar Crest Dr, Idyllwild, CA 92549

Over the hills and through the woods, a vintage 1947 cabin nestled in the pines of Idyllwild. This one-bedroom-plus-loft, one-bath retreat offers approximately 720 square feet on 0.21 acres, preserved to honor its rustic roots and updated just enough to make a comfortable hideaway in every season. Stairs lead down from a road-level parking pad to the cabin.Inside, warm wood paneling and plank floors sit beneath a vaulted ceiling crossed with exposed beams. An original wood-burning stone fireplace rises toward the beams, anchoring the living room between skylights that bring in light from morning through the afternoon. Just beyond, a dining nook is framed by oversized windows looking into the treetops. The kitchen keeps its period cabinetry and open shelving, with wood countertops, a deep sink, and a stainless gas range. Laundry and the main refrigerator are housed in the lower-level space beneath the house, with room for a second refrigerator in the kitchen. The primary bedroom offers a built-in wardrobe, display shelving, and windows on two sides opening to forest views. The remodeled bathroom pairs a natural flagstone floor and vintage wall-mount sink with a walk-in shower finished in stone-look tile. A ladder leads up to the peaked sleeping loft under the roofline, with its own small window.Out back, a sweeping curved deck extends over the hillside, with a hot tub and glimpses of the surrounding peaks. Suspended among the trees and wrapped in old-cabin warmth, it's a tucked-away refuge that feels untouched by time.
