Professional photos coming later today. Some homes have character, others have a story worth telling. Built in 1924, this thoughtfully updated home combines original craftsmanship, extensive modern improvements, and a location near the University of Oklahoma and Downtown Norman. Situated on a corner lot, this distinctive two-story home offers 2295 SF, four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Inside you'll find beautifully refinished original hardwood floors, historic woodwork and built-ins, and restored original wood-frame windows - many with hand-blown glass - preserving details that are difficult to replicate in new construction. The redesigned kitchen features custom soft-close cabinetry, granite countertops, a maple butcher-block island, farmhouse sink, beautiful backsplash and exposed brick. There's also a custom pantry and built in refrigerator, and a 36" JennAir six-burner gas range. The adjoining large dining area has a large built-in that spans an entire wall. Behind the kitchen is the primary suite, which has a custom-designed walkthrough bathroom with gorgeous marble vanities, leading to a walk-in closet. Upstairs you'll find three additional bedrooms with walk-in closets, a remodeled full bathroom and a convenient second-floor laundry (washer and dryer stay). Major improvements include complete electrical rewiring, plumbing replacement, replacement of both sewer lines, updated dual zone HVAC with individual upstairs room controls, smart thermostats, attic insulation, instant hot water with a Navian tankless water heater and a 2021 roof with high-impact shingles. An unfinished basement with both interior and exterior access completes the home, offering valuable storage and also acts as a storm shelter. Enjoy the large covered front porch, wood privacy fence, a location near OU, Main Street restaurants, local shops, and all that Downtown Norman has to offer. A century of character, thoughtfully preserved and updated, schedule a tour today!
